Pineapple Orange Banana Smoothie | gimmesomeoven.com

If you look on the top shelf of my fridge, there are three drinks you’re guaranteed to find: a pitcher of iced tea, milk…and pine-orange-banana juice. It’s been my favorite for about…oh…twenty years. :)  (Gosh, I’m getting old!)

So when I realized this week that I coincidentally had real oranges, bananas, and a fresh pineapple in the house, thought I would kick it up another notch and make the real thing! And I’m happy to report it was, of course, absolutely fabulous. And super sweet — definitely no extra honey, vanilla, or other ingredients needed.

Enjoy!!!

Ali’s Tip:

If you think a few hours ahead before making this (instead of impulsively, like me :-)), toss these fruits (pre-chopped) into the freezer for a few hours. Then there’s no need to use ice!!

I make a low cal diet version to drink at lunch. 2 slices of pineapples or 4-5 frozen chunks, a third banana that I have in the freezer in a bag frozen when starting to get ripe, and 3 orange slices, ice and a little water with a teaspoon of protein powder. Make a good portion to drink at lunch and keeps the drink under 200 calories all natural.

I was little confused by the large amounts in this recipe 2 cups of pineapple, a whole orange and one whole banana (that is overkill) a little banana goes long way that racks calories this up to a McDonalds shake….unless you were serving 3-4 people with this recipe? If you are watching weight trying to reduce, try my version. It will fill you up

This was really good. I changed it a little based on what I had available. I did freeze my pineapple, used 1 fresh banana and 2 chilled oranges. No ice, no flax (btw, how does one not notice that they’ve used up all the flax when they’re the only one who uses it?). This was a hit, even with the charmer going through the “I’m so cool that I hate everything” stage.
