Easy Berry Smoothie | gimmesomeoven.com

As I mentioned in my recent detox smoothie post, my friend Sarah and I decided to try going “raw” this past week in order to get back on track after weeks of eating out on our Europe trip. And I would say it was a mild success. To be honest, our raw food endeavor wasn’t quite as exciting (or tasty) as I think we both had hoped. And we may have fallen off the wagon by the time Saturday rolled around. But, we agreed that we definitely felt much better by the end of the week, so I’m looking forward to trying to incorporate even more completely raw meals in my diet moving forward.

Without a doubt, one of the easiest and quickest raw meals to make is a smoothie. Most of the week, I tried to make all of these fancy smoothies with long lists of ingredients and healthy additives. But one day in a pinch I decided just to make an easy berry smoothie, and it ended up being one of my favorites. All you need are two ingredients, a minute to blend them together, and you’re good to go.

So whether you might also be trying to go raw, or eat gluten-free, or vegan, or soy-free, or if you’re just to incorporate more fresh meal options into your day, I highly recommend giving this one a try. It’s berry-licious!

It’s so pretty! I would have never thought of adding coconut water. Normally I use orange juice. :)

i need to drink these and only these for a few days. WAY too much sugar for me recently. Love the simple ingredients – I’ve never had coconut water before but keep hearing wonders about it!

This looks great! I’ve been trying to pack my diet with more health — not necessarily raw, but that’s definitely the way it seems to go when you eat healthier. I might have to try this one!

That smoothie is so beautiful! Looking forward to eating as much raw as necessary this week to get through all my fresh produce still lurking in my fridge ; )

I’m totally intrigued by this coconut water! I made some smoothies this weekend (with yogurt, though) but I would love to have another option. This looks wonderful!

great smoothie recipe! I make these pretty regularly. I also like to hide some spinach in there ;) I could never go totally raw, but smoothies like this are a great addition to a balanced, healthy diet!
