Easy Berry Smoothie | gimmesomeoven.com

As I mentioned in my recent detox smoothie post, my friend Sarah and I decided to try going “raw” this past week in order to get back on track after weeks of eating out on our Europe trip. And I would say it was a mild success. To be honest, our raw food endeavor wasn’t quite as exciting (or tasty) as I think we both had hoped. And we may have fallen off the wagon by the time Saturday rolled around. But, we agreed that we definitely felt much better by the end of the week, so I’m looking forward to trying to incorporate even more completely raw meals in my diet moving forward.

Without a doubt, one of the easiest and quickest raw meals to make is a smoothie. Most of the week, I tried to make all of these fancy smoothies with long lists of ingredients and healthy additives. But one day in a pinch I decided just to make an easy berry smoothie, and it ended up being one of my favorites. All you need are two ingredients, a minute to blend them together, and you’re good to go.

So whether you might also be trying to go raw, or eat gluten-free, or vegan, or soy-free, or if you’re just to incorporate more fresh meal options into your day, I highly recommend giving this one a try. It’s berry-licious!

Sadly I’m allergic to coconut. Is there anything else to use besides plain water?

    1. Ali says:

Brandy, you could always try almond, soy, rice or regular milks, or your favorite juice. Hope that helps!

Ali, I love this smoothie recipe! I don’t know how I missed it as I adore all kinds of berries – especially raspberries – and always have coconut water (and milk) as well as chia seeds in my pantry for just such “emergencies”. ;) Thanks for sharing. Pinned!
