So glad you are safe from harm’s way, Ali. It’s so unfortunate that many have not been, though. Thanks for sharing this lovely recipe. We could all use a little “magic” during this terrible time.

Bah this tornado stuff has me all torn up :( I hate it. But I love this magic shell. What a gorgeous post!

What a beautiful post friend. I am glad your friends are okay. Growing up in KS, you get used to tornadoes, but you never get used to the destruction. I heart you (and this magic shell)!

I haven’t had Magic Shell in so long. I used to love that stuff. Might have used it on the cup of gelato I just ate (although I like it melty)!

On a different and much lighter note, I have made my magic shell three times and am so addicted! It is the very best! Your photos are gorgeous!

I have been meaning to try magic shell at home for ages, and with summer on the way the timing couldn’t be better! My husband is going to go crazy for it :)

  9. Annie says:

Hi, my son is allergic to coconut and all nuts. Anything else I can use instead? Thanks!

    1. Ali says:

      Hi Annie,

I have read that you can use any kind of oil — vegetable, canola or grapeseed oil might be a good place to begin. Let me know how it goes if you try it!

I would never buy store bought magic shell. Homemade is always best, and I can’t wait to try this!
