
Many of you longtime followers know that I’m not a big believer in “recipes” when it comes to smoothies. My method of choice is always “a little of this, a little of that”, usually based on whatever fresh produce happens to be hanging around my house.
But a smoothie I made this week happened to be exceptionally tasty. So I decided to snap a quick pic and share it with you all.
It’s basically a simple pineapple smoothie, featuring some healthy Greek yogurt, banana, and my favorite smoothie ingredient — fresh ginger! All in all a delicious, light, and wonderfully fresh tasting citrus smoothie. Feel free to substitute in your favorite citrus fruits, but I happen to be partial to my beloved piña. So pineapple it is for me! Enjoy!!

Pineapple Ginger Smoothie

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups diced fresh pineapple
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (I used vanilla, but you can choose your favorite flavor)
- 1 Tbsp. grated fresh ginger
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice or water
Instructions
- Blend all ingredients together in a blender until smooth. Serve immediately.




Anyone have the nutrition facts on this?
I think it comes out to somewhere in the 300-350 calorie range (depending on whether you use pineapple juice or water and if you use non-fat or regular greek yogurt). It would be a great breakfast smoothie!
Made this with plain Greek yogurt, minus ginger, plus a few drops of vanilla. Yum!
I made this for breakfast this morning and it was great! I used plain greek yogurt, so added some vanilla extract for a little extra flavor.
I made this smoothie this afternoon after wondering what to do with some very ripe pineapple and it was delicious! My daughter and I both loved it! Thankyou :)

Just made this for the first time with Coconut Milk instead of Yogurt, I really wanted to love this, wasn’t bad but wasn’t all that great either, a tablespoon of Ginger is way to much, my mouth was burning. Would have been better with a pinch of Ginger for more of a spicy kick try a tsp.
Did you use powdered ginger instead of the fresh ginger that the recipe calls for?
The simplest recipes are always the best, and a great idea about changing the yogurt flavor as a variation.
Made your Pineapple Ginger Smoothie this morning. Used regular vanilla yogurt since I didn’t have Greek on hand. I’m a big fan of Greek yogurt so will definite try it this way in the future. An excellent smoothie… made a good breakfast.
